Plan B: When Life's Not Working
What do you do when your life isn't turning out the way you thought it should? What do you do when your dreams are shattered? Or your plans fail and your expectations go unmet? Don’t leave God out of your life! Turn to “Plan B”. The truth is that we will often face situations in life that are difficult to handle. God may be trying to get us to see the need to surrender our plans so that we can be open to receive His plans for us. God often does His best work in our most hopeless situations.
The Apostle Paul reminds us: “we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” - 2 Corinthians 4:7
"When people ask me how they can know God's will for their lives, I tell them the best first step is to know God. Beyond that, I don't have any steps." - Pete Wilson, Plan B: What Do You Do When God Doesn’t Show Up The Way You Thought He Would?
Note: I will also be referencing the 7 disciplines from the book: “When Life’s Not Working”
by Bob Merritt
1) “Don’t Quit” - Give It One More Day
2) “Do a Few Things Well” - Manage Your Loads
3) Give Yourself Time - “Prepare”
4) Find Your Rhythm - “Be Consistent”
5) Have Discipline - "Boundaries"
6) “Stretch Yourself” - Try Things You Can’t Do
7) “Practice Self-Control” - Avoid the Fatal Fall
