Life Groups

It's easy to find a Life Group!  Just take a few moments to fill out the
Life Group Connection Form to help us find a group that is a
good fit for you.

Who are you doing life with?

Community—it is at the center of Christianity.  We were not meant to experience our joys and struggles alone; rather, we were created by God to live in community with others.

Here is what others are saying about their Life Groups:

"Life Group keeps me mindful of the journey...and that we're not meant to travel alone."  —Mike Faltin

"My Life Group means having family around when you have just moved 800 miles from your home.  When Randy was put in the hospital with a very serious infection, it was my Life Group who cooked and fed my family for weeks.  It was my Life Group who prayed us through it all."  —Janna Wideman

"My small group is where I feel the hands and feet of Christ.  It is my personal source of encouragement, support, and spiritual food during the middle of the week."  —Leslie Buffington

"I have been a 'Life Group Skipper' for the past four years, for the usual reasons: too busy; just a ritual; and just too much stress in life.  My wife and I are now in a group again and THOROUGHLY ENJOY IT.  I now realize that when I needed friends and support the most, I did absolutely the wrong thing: I abandoned my fellow Christians.  Thank God for [my current Life Group leader] for helping get me back on track."  —Rod Sims

"It is awesome to be able to share my heart with a group of women on a weekly basis, and to know that my husband has a group of men he can share his heart with."  —Lauren Hance

Who are you doing life with?  This is why we have Life Groups, where we can gather weekly in small groups of a dozen or so people to get to know each other and to encourage each other in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  We learn about the Bible, connect with other Christians, pray together, and walk together through life's joys and struggles.  Here, we grow in a way that we can't really accomplish on Sunday mornings.

It is easy to get lost in the crowd on Sunday mornings.  Through Life Groups, we can make a big church seem small, where we can feel personally known and supported.  A Life Group is not designed for Bible scholars, mystics or counselees; rather, it is a comfortable place where you can develop friendships and find encouragement for life's challenges-where, once you find a good fit, you are encouraged to stay together in the same group for at least 18-24 months.  In such a predictable, safe environment, you are free to ask questions, share needs, and grow in your spiritual journey.

To find a Life Group, simply fill out the Life Group Connection Form at the top of this page.  Then, we will be able to help you connect with a group that just might be a good fit for you.  We realize that sometimes, the first group you try might not be such a good fit, and that is okay.  You can "try before you buy."  We can help you find groups that are meeting on a particular night or in a certain area of the city and connect you with them.  And, we are always starting new groups, where everybody in the group is new…sometimes that makes it a little easier.

Child care, for those Life Groups with children, is arranged by each group. However, excellent childcare is available at our church building for those groups that meet there.  Life Groups meet at whatever time the group decides is best, usually for about an hour each week. Many groups decide to have light refreshments at their meetings, and often get together for meals, trips, or special events…and become life-long friends; some don't meet as often in the summer months.  There is a group that is right for you…we can help you find it...because we all need a place to belong.
